How does laser lipo work?
Traditional liposuction is performed using a suction cannula, which removes fat from targeted body areas. Laser Lipo improves on this method by using a state-of-the-art laser and very small incisions, providing the surgeon with
- Better Control and Precision
- Reduced Side Effects
- Faster Healing and Recovery
- Skin Tightening
The Laser energy offers two functions: (1) it liquefies fat cells, making them easier to remove; and (2) it heats the skin in the treatment area, stimulating a healing response that triggers collagen growth, leading to smoother results than other types of liposuction.
What areas of the body can Laser Lipo treat?
Because of its precision and power, Laser Lipo can eliminate fat in virtually any body area to give you the trim, contoured figure you desire. This includes fat in the chin, neck, back, arms, buttocks, thighs, calves, abdomen, and flanks (including love handles and muffin tops). Our surgeon can determine whether or not you are a good candidate for laser liposuction during your consultation.
How is Laser Lipo performed?
During this procedure, you will be given a local anesthetic to numb the treatment areas. Small incisions are made in order to allow the laser fiber to access the fat layers beneath the skin. The laser works to destroy the fat cells in targeted areas. At the same time, the laser heats the underlying tissue, which will promote collagen remodeling and skin tightening in the months after the procedure. Treated fat will be gently suctioned from the problem area.
How can I prepare for Laser Lipo?
During your initial consultation, our surgeon will examine the areas of excess fat in order to determine the amount and distribution of fat, as well as the degree of skin elasticity. The surgeon will also discuss your goals and expectations, including possible risks and the best way to prepare for your surgery. He will let you know what to expect before, during, and after your procedure, and he will answer any questions that you may have.
What can I expect during Laser Lipo?
This procedure will be performed in our state-of-the-art clinic and operating suite. The length of your procedure will vary, depending on the body areas treated. Laser Lipo usually takes about 45 minutes to an hour for each area treated. After your procedure, you will be brought to your room where we go over your post operative instructions. You will return home the same day.
What can I expect after Laser Lipo?
In general, you can expect to have mild bruising and swelling for 1 week after your procedure. The surgeon will also see you for post-operative visits, and he and our staff will answer any questions you may have about your recovery, as well as your overall health after this procedure.
